Greyhound racing boss referred to ICAC

The Minister for Racing and Gaming David Harris has referred allegations against the boss of Greyhound Racing New South Wales to the Independent Commission Against Corruption.

Rob McCauley, who lives in Singleton, is being investigated over multiple potential conflicts of interest connected to family members employed by the peak body and a contract for legal services with a law firm he was a partner in.

One of the accusations surrounds his sister in-law paid as a consultant for PR advice on the controversial large scale Martindale dog kennel proposal, which has since been knocked back by planners.

A spokesperson for Mr Harris has told the Hunter Valley Newsroom….it’s vital that the governing bodies and senior leadership of the state’s racing codes meet the highest standards of integrity.
