Malcolm Turnbull says he came up with the idea to construct a hydro-electric power station in the Upper Hunter when he was Prime Minister.
His company is currently conducting a feasibility study into the plan using Glenbawn and Glennies Creek Dam.
Mr Turnbull has told the iHeart Upper Hunter Podcast…pumped hydro must be considered part of the post-coal mix in New South Wales.
