Firefighters say the actions of a quick-thinking young boy allowed them to quickly extinguish a house fire in Singleton.
Singleton Fire & Rescue along with multiple RFS units responded to the blaze on Victoria Street late yesterday morning.
The crews were alerted by the five-year-old who rang Emergency Triple Zero and then handed the phone to his mum.

The fire, which ignited on a campfire stove was starting to spread when the first fire truck arrived.
