Muswellbrook Shire Council is set to appeal a decision to reject their application for a disaster declaration following the recent earthquake activity.
The State Government advised the council this week the initial 4.7 quake and subsequent 30-odd aftershocks did not meet the criteria needed to be successful.
Mayor Jeff Drayton said he’ll be making his feelings quite clear to the government when he meets with Emergency Services Minister Jihad Dib in the next few weeks.
