More local residents to seek crisis support

A request has been made to the Upper Hunter community to consider doing something different this Christmas…make a donation to Lifeline in our region.

It costs the organisation $39 to answer each call to 13 11 14 that could save someone’s life and help them get through their darkest moment.

Lifeline is expecting an increase in the number of calls it will receive from the Upper Hunter over the festive season.

In December last year, 6,000 safety plans were created to support those reaching out for help.

Local CEO Robert Sams said demand for help continues to grow in the Greater Hunter, especially since the end of the COVID-19 pandemic.
