Two men have been airlifted to hospital following separate vehicle accidents in the Upper Hunter over the weekend.
Just after 1.00am on Saturday 11 April, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance to a collision involving a car and a truck north of Aberdeen. A man in his 20s was treated at the scene for neck, pelvis and facial injuries by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the helicopter’s critical care medical team.
He was stabilised before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital for further treatment.
Later that afternoon, around 5.30pm, the rescue helicopter was again called to assist following a vehicle rollover at a rural property northwest of Scone. A man in his 80s was treated on scene by paramedics for head injuries before being transported by road to Scone to meet the helicopter crew.
He was further treated and stabilised before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital.
