You ready for this?! Lady Gaga and Tim Burton have finally teamed up, and it’s everything we could have dreamed of and more! The pop queen just dropped the music video for her new track, “The Dead Dance,” and it’s a gothic masterpiece.
This isn’t just any music video. It’s a full-on cinematic experience, and it’s got a direct link to one of Netflix’s biggest shows. So, what’s all the buzz about? Let’s get into it!
She’s Back and Spookier Than Ever
Gaga has dropped the official video for “The Dead Dance,” and it’s directed by the king of spooky himself, Tim Burton! The clip sees Gaga as a haunted porcelain doll, complete with creepy cracks spreading across her face. Is anyone surprised? This is the perfect collab!
As the song kicks in, she staggers to life in a graveyard full of other eerie figurines. It’s got that classic Burton vibe mixed with Gaga’s unique performance art. The lyrics are pure Gaga gold, too. She belts out, “‘Cause when you killed me inside, that’s when I came alive,” as she leads a dance party with a crew of zombified dolls. You have to see it to believe it!
It’s All Connected to Wednesday
So, where does this killer track come from? “The Dead Dance” was created for season two of the massive Netflix hit, Wednesday! And it gets even better. Not only is her song featured, but Gaga herself appears in the new season.
She plays Rosaline Rotwood, a deceased former teacher at Nevermore Academy who helps Wednesday Addams (played by Jenna Ortega) on her quest. The show’s composer, Chris Bacon, said it was amazing to see Gaga on screen. He mentioned she brings a “certain mystery and maybe a hint of darkness” that fits right into the Wednesday universe. We love to hear it!
New Music on the Way?
Along with the new video, Gaga also surprised fans by dropping a deluxe edition of her 2025 album, Mayhem. “The Dead Dance” has been added to the tracklist, along with two other songs, “Kill for Love” and “Can’t Stop the High,” which were previously only available on special editions.
