Paramount Picutres this morning released the first look teaser for their upcoming new release The Running Man, adapted from Stephen King’s short story of the same name and its being made by none other than Edgar Wright.
The new film is currently set to be a closer adaptation to the original story than the 1987 film which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. The newest adaptation stars Glen Powell and Josh Brolin, you can catch the first trailer below!
In a near-future society, The Running Man is the top-rated show on television—a deadly competition where contestants, known as Runners, must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins, with every move broadcast to a bloodthirsty public and each day bringing a greater cash reward. Desperate to save his sick daughter, working-class Ben Richards (Glen Powell) is convinced by the show’s charming but ruthless producer, Dan Killian (Josh Brolin), to enter the game as a last resort. But Ben’s defiance, instincts, and grit turn him into an unexpected fan favorite—and a threat to the entire system. As ratings skyrocket, so does the danger, and Ben must outwit not just the Hunters, but a nation addicted to watching him fall.
The film is set for November 7th release date and has been blessed by the former star Arnold Schwarzenegger. Alongside Glen Powell and Josh Brolin, the film also stars Colman Domingo, Michael Cera, Katy O’Brian, Lee Pace, William H. Macy, Sean Hayes, Jayme LAwson, Karl Glusman, Sandra Dickinson, and Emilia Jones.
You can catch The Running Man when it drops in theatres November 7th.
