It’s a bird! It’s a plane!
Earlier this year the DCU launched its new cinematic universe James Gunn’s Superman film. Today James Gunn and the team at DC released the teaser trailer for their next major film, Supergirl.
Supergirl stars Australia’s own Milly Alcock in the leading role. The film focuses on Kara Zor-El/Supergirl as she celebrates her 23rd birthday. It’ll tell the story of how she survived the destruction of Krypton and how she’s struggled to come to terms with her home planet being destroyed in front of her.
The film takes much inspiration from the Supergirl comic “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow”, a story in which Kara is riddled with PTSD, depression and moves from plane to planet hoping to get drunk and ease the pain in her heart. The new film is set to star Milly Alcock, Eve Ridley, Matthias Schoenaerts, David Kurmholts, Emily Beecham, Alice Kewkin, and Jason Mamoa as Lobo.
You can catch Supergirl when it flies into cinemas on the 26th of June.
