Cassilis has received just a fifth of the rainfall it should have at this point, and there doesn't appear to be any coming in the near or even distant future.

Miles Martin in a farmer in Cassilis who has both cattle and sheep on the family's 4,500 hectare property, Dalkeith Olde.

It's getting very tough though with feed costing up to $20,000 a week and that doesn't include labour and everything else that needs to be done on the property.

Jessica caught up with Miles to find out just how he is surviving one of the worst droughts in a century.
