21 new cases of COVID-19 in the Hunter New England Health District

There has been another increase in the number of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) cases in the Hunter New England Health District (HNEH). 

An additional 21 cases have been confirmed since HNEH's last update on Wednesday afternoon.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the District to 124.

Hunter New England Health have confirmed that 15 of these cases are spread across the Cessnock, Singleton, Muswellbrook, Dungog and Upper Hunter Local Government Areas.

Currently five COVID-19 patients are being cared for in our hospitals, two in ICU. Daily wellness checks continue to be undertaken with all other confirmed cases in the District.

Hunter New England Health is contacting close contacts of the new cases, who are being asked to self-isolate for 14 days from last contact. They will be contacted every day to check that they are well and any contact who develops COVID-19 symptoms will be tested for the infection.
