
Several projects in Singleton are benefiting from more than $800,000 in funding.
It's thanks to the NSW Government's Stronger Country Communities Fund that will see seven projects including with Singleton Council and the Singleton Rugby Club share in $878,986.
The funding projects include:
- Singleton Council (Civic Centre Tiered Audience Seating) $108,900
- Singleton High School P&C Association (Singleton High School Marra Talpa Fitness Centre) $62,660
- Singleton Council (Singleton Civic Centre Courtyard Upgrade) $103,361
- University of Newcastle (Singleton Act-Belong-Commit Youth Connectors Program) $148,312
- Police Citizens Youth Club NSW Ltd (Friday Afternoon Fun) $109,396
- Live Life Get Active Pty Ltd (Live Life Get Active - supporting Healthier, Happier and more Connected youth in the Singleton community) $95,625
- Singleton Rugby Club (amenities upgrade) $250,732.
“The Stronger Country Communities Fund has over the years already delivered much needed infrastructure for our Upper Hunter Electorate and this funding is available for youth and community projects is great news,” Upper Hunter MP Michael Johnsen said.
“The Nationals in Government are maintaining their commitment to rural and regional New South Wales by ensuring the community organisations receive the funding they need.”
$100 million is being distributed across regional NSW, with regional communities set to benefit from more than 550 new projects. To date, rounds one and two of the program have funded more than 1,000 projects.
“Locals across regional NSW are seeing the benefits of rounds one and two of the Fund, with projects making a big difference to everyday life, from new playgrounds loved by kids to light towers illuminating sporting fields,” Michael Johnsen said.
“We are funding grassroots projects that make a real difference to each community, and we know how important it is to support our regional towns with new infrastructure and programs,” Michael Johnsen said.
The $400 million Stronger Country Communities Fund is part of the NSW Government’s $1.7 billion Regional Growth Fund, which is being invested in local programs and infrastructure that improve the lives of people living in regional NSW.
