Glencore is helping creatures great and small in the NSW bushfire crisis donating $1 million to three organisations.

"Like all Australians, we’ve been deeply saddened to see the destruction caused by the current bushfires and the catastrophic impacts on many families, communities and wildlife across the country."

"In response to the bushfires, Glencore has today donated a total of $1 million to three organisations that play a vital role in several aspects of bushfire preparation, response and recovery."

The three organisations are Blaze Aid, Aussie Ark and the NSW Rural Fire Service - Blaze Aid will receive $500,00 and both Aussie Ark and the NSW RFS will be getting $250,000 each.

Blaze Aid is a volunteer-based organisation the provides support to rural families and individuals after natural disasters and are entirely funded by donations.

Glencore has a longstanding partnership with Aussie Ark who is working hard to create a long-term future for multiple native, endangered Australian mammals - they've created Koala Ark and are going out into bushfire and drought-affected areas to try and save species. Over the past couple of weeks they have relocated a number of platypus, koalas, Hastings River turtles and brush-tailed rock wallabies, all threatened species.

And the $250,000 for the NSW RFS will be going to services in the Hunter Valley and Mid-Western Region of NSW to help enhance their ability to prepare for, and respond to, bushfires.
