One dead after two separate motorcycle accidents in the Hunter over the weekend


The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service was called to two separate motorcycle accidents in the Hunter at the weekend. 

Tragically one man was killed in a crash on Wybong Road at Castlerock near Muswellbrook on Saturday afternoon. 

Emergency services were called to the scene just after 2:30pm following reports a Harley Davidson motorcycle and a silver Holden Commodore collided.

Tragically the 47-year-old male motorcyclist died at the scene.

The five occupants of the vehicle, which included a three-year-old child, were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers from Hunter Valley Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Meantime, the chopper was also called to Wollombi after a motorcyclist fell from his bike after crashing into a guard rail suffering multiple injuries on Sunday.

The 52-year-old man was flown to the John Hunter Hospital and was last reported to be in a stable condition.
