A Total Fire Ban is in place for the Greater Hunter region tomorrow (Wednesday 14th February 2018) including Singleton, Muswellbrook, Upper Hunter, Maitland, Cessnock, Dungog, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens and Newcastle due to forecast hot and windy conditions.
The mercury looks set to soar into the low to mid 40s across much of the Upper Hunter with the temperature looking like it will hit 41 degress in Muswellbrook and 40 degrees in Scone.
During a total fire ban all permits are suspended and no fires are allowed to be lit in the open. Gas and electric barbeques may be used provided certain conditions are met.
Residents are being advised to remain vigilant and follow your Bush Fire Survival Plan if the situation arises. If you see any unattended fires call Triple Zero.
