Water restrictions in Murrurundi have been reduced to Level 4 as of midnight last night after the successful installation of a new Water Treatment Plant.
The level 4 restrictions aim to reduce a person's average consumption of water by 200 litres per day.
Under the restrictions watering lawns isn't permitted - residential gardens can only be watered with micro-sprays, drip systems and soaker hoses between 6pm and 8pm on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Irrigation of new turf is not permitted, but you can top up and fill water garden features.
A full list of restrictions can be found on the Upper Hunter Shire council's website.
