Three men have been charged after being caught stealing from a property near Lochinvar.
Rural Crime Investigators from the Hunter Valley Police District say a property owner at Harpers Hill found three men allegedly trespassing and stealing a quantity of timber in September 2018.
The gum tree had been felled by the owner to use to make boutique furniture.
The offenders, all from Greta, were allegedly in the process of cutting and loading the timber onto a trailer.
They were charged with larceny, malicious damage and unlawful entry on enclosed lands.
All three are due to appear in Singleton Local Court at the end of February.
