Scone has failed to win a game for the first time in over a year after the opening round of the Group 21 rugby league season.

The Thoroughbreds hosted a new look Muswellbrook at Scone Park yesterday but had to settle with a draw.

A try with two minutes before full time from Rams lock Cameron Moran was converted on the siren by five eighth Jordan Mulherin to see the game end at 16-all.

In the other games….Denman chalked up a first round 42-18 victory over Singleton while Greta Branxton smashed Aberdeen 56-10.

Jayden Galvin has kicked five goals in Muswellbrook’s 45 point round two victory in the AFL Men’s Black Diamond Shield.

Cats co-coach Cameron Bankovic also contributed with three six pointers against The Entrance Bateau Bay at Bateau Bay Oval.

The final score 12.16.88 to 6.7.43.

Back to the drawing board for Singleton.
