House fire on Brook Street in Muswellbrook


Emergency services were called to Muswellbrook overnight after a household broke out in flames. 

The incident occurred at 1.56am and Fire and Rescue NSW Muswellbrook and Aberdeen were on scene.

Crews commenced fire attack and extinguished the blaze.

A spokesperson from Fire and Rescue NSW told Hunter Valley News the property was 'totally destroyed' meaning its completely unlivable. 


Fortunately, the house was unoccupied and had no one living in it at the time. 

"Later at 05:22 Rescue Pumper 392 was responded to a flooding incident where assistance was rendered," a spokesperson from Fire and Rescue NSW Muswellbrook said. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
