The Hunter regions record 78 new cases of COVID-19

The Hunter New England Health District has recorded a further 78 new cases of COVID-19. 

The Upper Hunter will undergo their fourth day without any new cases recorded in their adjoining local government areas.

The 79 new cases take the total number in the current outbreak to 2,074 - there are currently 1,115 active cases.

25 of the total active cases are currently being cared for in hospital and there are five currently in ICU.

54 are linked, 12 are unlinked and 13 are still under investigation.

43 were infectious in the community and 23 were isolating during their infectious period.
