Hunter New England Health (HNEH) staff are rolling up their sleeves this week for their second COVID-19 jab.
Frontline healthcare staff received their first injection of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at the John Hunter Hospital Vaccination Centre are returning for their second dose this week.
The first vaccine recipient at John Hunter Hospital and Nurse Unit Manager of the COVID-19 Ward, Alexandra Mexon was among the clinicians receiving their second dose today.
“My colleagues and I are pleased to be coming back for our second injections."
“Everything has gone according to plan and both doses were quick and relatively painless."
“I would encourage everyone to check their eligibility and find out when they can receive the vaccine,” she said.
The vaccine rollout in HNEH District is initially focusing on frontline healthcare workers most at risk of the virus, as part of the Australian Government's COVID-19 vaccination program. HNEH said their vaccine centres are not open to the general public.
