A Muswellbrook woman is this morning staging a one-person protest outside one of the Upper Hunter’s biggest coal mines.
Nicky Redgrove did the same thing several months ago at the front entrance to BHP’s Mount Arthur over her treatment following a workplace accident five years ago which left her unable to work.
Nicky was struck by a large falling mass of rock while refueling an eight-metre-high vehicle.
Coverage by the Hunter Valley Newsroom led to an increased offer which she accepted three months ago but Nicky still hasn’t received the compensation payout.
Nicky said after reaching a settlement and signing the paperwork three months ago she is still waiting to receive the payout she needs to survive.
