An elderly Hunter Valley woman has told police she was forced to flee into bushland after being attacked at her home.
The 78-year-old returned to her home at Laguna on Thursday afternoon when she was approached by a man who allegedly threatened her with a tomahawk and pushed her.
The man is also accused of causing extensive damage to her vehicle with the weapon.

A 44-year-old man and 15-year-old teenage male were arrested nearby a short time later.
