A woman and a teenage girl will face court, as police continue investigating a robbery at a Muswellbrook bottle shop earlier this year.
About 10pm on Friday 22 May, police were called to a bottle shop on the corner of Maitland Road and Sydney Street, Muswellbrook. At the scene, police were told three people had allegedly forced entry to the business and assaulted an employee before stealing alcohol. A crime scene was established by officers from Hunter Valley Police District, and an investigation began.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested at Muswellbrook Police Station on Monday 25 May. He was charged with 11 offences and remains before the courts.
Following further inquiries, a 14-year-old girl was arrested at Muswellbrook Police Station on Wednesday 2 September. She was charged with robbery in company and face blackened or disguised with intent to commit an indictable offence, and was granted strict conditional bail to appear before a children’s court on Wednesday 30 September.
Yesterday, detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Wollombi Road, Muswellbrook. A 38-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Muswellbrook Police Station, where she was charged with robbery in company and face blackened or disguised with intent to commit an indictable offence. She was granted strict conditional bail to appear before Muswellbrook Local Court on Tuesday 29 September.
Police say inquiries into the robbery continue.
