Many good lessons have been learned following a large-scale rescue exercise at a local underground coal mine.
That’s according to the NSW Mines Safety Regulator following the operation at Wambo near Singleton.
The scenario involved a big collapse leaving three miner workers trapped.

Chief Inspector Anthony Margetts said it’s very important underground mines know how to respond to these types of scenarios.
