Tributes are flowing today for an Upper Hunter farmer and fierce environmentalist Wendy Bowman.
The Camberwell resident who took on Yancoal and won has passed away, aged 89.
Her efforts prevented the company from going ahead with the South East Open Cut Coal Mine surrounding her farm protecting the local environment including sensitive waterways.

Lawyer Elaine Johnson from the Environmental Defenders Office worked with Wendy on the case and said Wendy’s death is an enormous loss for the community.
