Upper Hunter too close to call

Counting will re-commence later this morning for the seat of Upper Hunter with Peree Watson trailing sitting MP Dave Layzell by just under one-thousand votes.

The Nationals sitting MP Dave Layzell currently ahead of Labor candidate Peree Watson by just under one-thousand votes.

James White from the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers has so far polled 3026 votes, Dale McNamara 2336 and 1612 for the Greens.

On top of this there are also 26-thousand early and postal votes to be included.

The electorate’s larger booths, in Muswellbrook and Singleton, which will give a more accurate picture of where the vote is headed are still to be counted.
