An Upper Hunter man has been refused bail after being charged with multiple child abuse offences.
The 52-year-old was arrested earlier this month after an investigation into allegations he possessed child abuse material.
The arrest only came to light after the Hunter Valley Newsroom questioned police about the case.
We are prevented from naming the man for legal reasons. He has been charged with two counts of use child under 14 years to make child abuse material, two counts of film person in private act without consent, and intentionally record intimate image without consent etc (DV).
He’ll front Newcastle Local Court in November.
