Two boys have been charged after an alleged break‑and‑enter at a business in Kelly Street, Scone. Police say they were called to the scene around 4am on Sunday 1 February following reports of a break‑in at Sportspower in Scone.

An investigation was launched by officers from the Hunter Valley Police District, with inquiries leading to the arrest of two boys aged 12 and 13 in Barton Street on Wednesday evening.

Both were taken to Muswellbrook Police Station and charged with aggravated break, enter and steal, being carried in a conveyance taken without consent, disguising their faces with intent to commit an indictable offence, and breaching bail. Police say the 12‑year‑old is also accused of committing a section 154 offence and posting footage of the incident online in what is described as a “post and boast” crime.
