Residents in parts of the Upper Hunter may notice smoke over the coming days from a fire burning in a remote and inaccessible part of a military training area.
The NSW Rural Fire Service says the fire is burning at low intensity and remains within established containment lines. Firefighters and land managers are continuing to monitor conditions closely.
The RFS says there is no threat to the community, properties or surrounding areas at this time. Smoke may be visible from a distance and may at times settle in nearby locations, depending on the weather. Members of the public are asked not to be alarmed if they see smoke in the area.
The RFS will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates through their app and website.
