The chance to win a national title and championship buckle is on the line for a group of Singleton’s rising rodeo stars, as they prepare to compete in the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Australia Can-Am Junior Academy Finals in Tamworth later this week.

Seven young riders from Singleton will take part in the finals on Saturday, October 25, competing across the Pee Wee, Junior and Senior divisions.

Leading the charge is 12-year-old Nash Goddard, who currently sits atop the junior division standings. Nash has enjoyed a standout 2025, collecting a championship buckle and reserve title at the Australian Bushmen’s Campdraft and Rodeo Association (ABCRA) finals in January, before claiming another age title at the Scone PBR competition in February.

In the senior division, Logan George will be Singleton’s lone representative — and one to watch — after previously taking out the Australian National Under-14 Mini Bull title at the ABCRA finals.

Making it a family affair are the Thomas brothers — nine-year-old Dustin and Clay in the Pee Wee division, and 12-year-old Judd in the juniors. Judd capped off a dominant 2024 season with two ABCRA national titles.

Joining them in the junior finals is 11-year-old Sonny Heffernan, who recently completed his 50th PBR Junior Academy ride, while nine-year-old Dawson McKenzie from Mitchells Flat rounds out the Singleton contingent in the Pee Wee class.

The Hunter will also be represented by James Ross from Stroud and Bill Brooker from Vacy, both competing in the senior division.

The event will showcase Australia’s most promising young bullriders, bringing together the next generation of talent for a full day of competition, courage and country spirit.
