The State Emergency Service is reporting a relatively quiet night despite the ferocious storm across parts of the Upper Hunter.
The weather system with plenty of lightning strikes appears to have had the most impact between Scone down to Muswellbrook.
Over 45mm of rain recorded since 9 am yesterday.
The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting up to another 60mm over the next 24 hours. Hail also fell in Aberdeen.
While the SES may have been quiet…the Rural Fire Service has had a busy time as a result of the storm.
A large number of fires have been reported from lightning strikes across the Upper Hunter including at Muswellbrook, Scone, Ravensworth, Baerarmi Creek, south of Merriwa, and in the Goulburn River National Park.
