A fire at the Singleton Waste Management Facility has been brought under control after NSW Fire and Rescue crews were called to the site on Saturday evening.

A Singleton Council spokesperson says staff had already left for the day when the blaze broke out. Fire and Rescue crews worked to contain the fire and left the scene at about 10.30pm.

Firefighters returned to the facility on Sunday morning to check the site and ensure there were no remaining hazards.

The facility remains open to the public as normal.

It is the second fire at the site in recent months, occurring in a different area to a blaze on 30 December 2025.

That fire, and many fires at other waste facilities, was caused by improperly disposed batteries.

The cause of Saturday’s fire is yet to be determined.
