Scone RSL has hosted the Parliament of NSW’s Regional Roadshow. A total of 21 school students representing a range of schools across the Hunter and the wider region participated in the competition.
All Students displayed remarkable confidence and insight, showcasing the talent and future leaders throughout regional NSW.
This was the largest public speaking competition held since the Regional Roadshows began in 2024.
The winner was Jaden Altern from Carinya Christian School, who spoke on the topic “The Edges”. Jaden will compete in the State Final, to be held in the Legislative Chamber at Parliament House in December.
The runner-up was Sanza Arzal from McCarthy Catholic College Tamworth, who spoke on the topic: “Unread”.
There was also 66 students who participated in a Youth Forum, covering topics such as cost of living, mental health and wellbeing, bullying and social media, and education.
