Community consultation is now open on two draft Public Environment Reports for the Hunter Valley Operations continuation project in the Upper Hunter.
The reports relate to the HVO North Continuation Project and the HVO South Continuation Project, covering determined controlled actions under the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.
HVO’s proposed continuation aims to increase resource recovery from the existing mining operation, predominantly by mining through previously worked areas rather than into new greenfield sites.
The draft Public Environment Reports are available for public viewing at Singleton Library, Muswellbrook Library and the State Library of NSW. Further details, including online access to the documents, are available on the HVO website.
Community members are able to provide feedback on the proposals until consultation closes on June 17.
