An aging police station in the Upper Hunter is set to be modernized after a substantial funding announcement yesterday.
The Minister for the Police and Hunter Yasmin Catley has declared the State Government is investing 8.7 million dollars for the Singleton Police station, which will go towards the construction of a new two-story wing and refurbishments to the existing heritage listed building.
The upgrade plans include new staffing facilities, such as locker, conference and storage rooms as well as much needed female bathrooms to accommodate the increase of female officers.
Ms Catley says the new refurbishment will be ‘a game changer for our local police and it will mean the Singleton community will be well served.’
