Oversize vehicle carrying Glencore mining equipment navigates Singleton streets

Motorists travelling through Singleton were forced to pull over yesterday morning to allow an oversize load to pass.

The load, a large mining haul truck body branded Glencore, was transported by heavy haulage operator Bower’s, taking up two lanes of the road as it travelled north through town at around 11:15am. The vehicle was escorted by police, with minor traffic delays reported as a result.

Oversize and overmass vehicle movements are a regular feature of life in the Hunter Valley, with mining equipment routinely transported between mine sites, workshops and the Port of Newcastle across the region’s road network.
