NSW Health has launched a personalised vaccination schedule tool to help parents ensure their children receive vaccines on time, as measles activity increases across the community. The tool generates a customised schedule based on a child’s date of birth and provides practical reminders through an ‘add to calendar’ feature.

Health authorities say the tool aims to make vaccination easier for families after research found many parents felt uncertain or overwhelmed about when their child was due for each vaccine. The State Government says improving immunisation rates will help keep children safe and ease pressure on hospitals across the Hunter and statewide.

Vaccinations in NSW are free and protect against serious illnesses including measles, mumps, rubella, whooping cough, chicken pox and polio. The recommended schedule is designed by experts to provide children with the highest level of protection at the right stages of development.

More than 90 per cent of NSW children are fully immunised, but NSW Health says further improvement is important to reduce the spread of preventable diseases. Parents are urged to speak with their GP, nurse or Aboriginal Medical Service if their child has missed a vaccine.
