
The England Highway was closed this morning between High Street and Cessnock Road in Maitland, due to flooding.
The route was only closed Southbound yesterday, however rising water saw it cut in both directions today.

There is a local diversion for light vehicles, with heavy vehicles advised to follow directions of crews on site.
Other major roads remain closed:
- Cessnock Road remains closed between the New England Highway and Mount Dee Road in Maitland.
- Raymond Terrace Road remains closed at East Maitland.
- Seaham Road remains closed at Raymond Terrace.
- Main Road remains closed at Gillieston Heights.
- The Oxley Highway remains closed between Yarras and Mount Seaview, west of Wauchope, due to a landslide.
On public transport:
- Buses continue to replace trains between Maitland, Telarah and Dungog on the Hunter Line. They may not be able to access all stations.
