Muswellbrook council has confirmed it’s owed upwards of hundreds of thousands of dollars from Dartbrook Mine in the Hunter Valley, which recently plunged into receivership and administration.
Just months after it re-opened, following years of disuse – the New South Wales coal mine called in administrators from Deloitte
The company is understood to have defaulted on a 174 million dollar loan.

Muswellbrook mayor Jeff Drayton says council will attend an upcoming meeting with administrators.
