A man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed during an overnight assault in Muswellbrook.
About 2.25am today, Friday 11 September, emergency services were called to Sydney Street, Muswellbrook, following reports of a stabbing. Officers attached to Hunter Valley Police District attended and were told a 23-year-old man had been stabbed in the arm during an assault by two unknown males.
The two men ran from the scene before police arrived. NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 23-year-old at the scene before taking him to hospital in a stable condition.

Police have established a crime scene, and an investigation into the incident has commenced. Inquiries are ongoing.
