Police are investigating after a 71-year-old man died in a suspected hunting accident near Cassilis on Wednesday morning.
Emergency services were called to a property on Rotherwood Road around 8:50am, following reports a man had sustained a gunshot wound.
Officers from Hunter Valley Police District were told the man was hunting on the property at the time of the incident.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended but were unable to revive him.
A crime scene has been established, and Hunter Valley detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
