Malicious damage to property tops local crimes

Malicious damage to property was the most reported crime in the Upper Hunter over the past year.

That’s according to analysis of the official crime stats published in the Telegraph this morning.

People were charged with the offence 229 times in Singleton LGA, 207 in Muswellbrook and 77 times in the Upper Hunter Shire.

The Upper Hunter Shire is ranked 34th in the state when it comes to the number of crimes committed.

Intimidation, Stalking and Harassment the most prevalent crime in the LGA.

Singleton comes in at 58th with Malicious Damage To Property topping the list.

Muswellbrook Shire ranks 65th in the state.

Intimidation, Stalking and Harassment is the most common offence.
