A Muswellbrook man is in a critical condition in hospital after sustaining a serious injury in a local rugby league match.
The Group 21 first grade game between Muswellbrook and Denman at Olympic Park was abandoned around ten minutes before full time yesterday afternoon.
The man, in his twenties, was assessed and stabilised on scene by ambulance paramedics and a critical care medical team before being airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle with a head injury.
