Work to wind down operations at Liddell Power Station is underway ahead of the facility’s shut down next week.
Liddell has been a major contributor to state’s power grid for more than 50 years.
The Australian Energy Market Operator has forecast that New South Wales is secure in its power supply.

A community open day will be held at the site just south of Muswellbrook on Saturday week.
