Layzell says work is progressing on new RFS shed two years after it was funded

The State Government said tenders are currently being assessed to build the first home for an Upper Hunter rural fire service brigade.

Kayuga RFS Deputy Captain Jim Lonergan said he had been hitting nothing but brick walls from head office trying to find out what had happened to funding for the project.

It was allocated for the project at the by-election two years ago.

But Upper Hunter MP Dave Layzell said the RFS has been working through the planning process and the challenges presented.
