Police have seized hundreds of cannabis plants following a search warrant at a home in the Hunter Valley.

In early 2026, officers attached to the Hunter Valley Police District commenced an investigation into the cultivation of cannabis in the region. That investigation led detectives to a property in Hunterview.

About 9.30am yesterday, Hunter Valley Detectives, assisted by the Hunter Valley Proactive Crime Team, executed a search warrant at the home. During the search, police allegedly located an elaborate hydroponic cannabis cultivation setup.

Police seized a total of 328 mature cannabis plants, with an estimated potential street value of more than $650,000. Officers also located and seized 78 cannabis seedlings, dried cannabis and hydroponic equipment from the premises.

The property was also found to be illegally connected to the power grid and was disconnected with the assistance of a utility provider. Specialist police forensically examined the scene.

Inquiries into the incident are continuing. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
