The Labor Party said a new roads funding package shows they are listening and responding to what the Upper Hunter community needs.
Attendees at a meet the candidates forum in Merriwa on Wednesday asked all candidates to urgently fix severely damaged roads in the area and install extra overtaking lines or lanes on the Golden Highway due to increased heavy truck movements through the area.
Two days later Labor’s Upper Hunter candidate Peree Watson announced they’ll spend 44-million dollars immediately on improving our roads if elected to government on March 25.

This includes 12-million dollars on upgrading the Golden Highway around Merriwa.
