Krui River restoration works completed

Major restoration works have been completed on the Krui River, near the Golden Highway between Merriwa and Cassilis.

Nearly 3,300 native seedlings have been planted along a 24-hectare stretch of the riverbank to help repair damage from the 2022 Hunter floods.

Local Land Services and the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water led the plantings.

Stock will be excluded from the area for the next 10 years to let vegetation strengthen.
