The Hunter Valley’s peak wine body has endorsed a bid for a taxpayer funded support package to help the industry recover from the effects of China’s trade war on the Aussie product.
Australian Wine and Grape claims the industry lost $1.2 billion from the over 200 percent tariff on our wines over the past four years.
The industry is asking the government for $86 million in the Federal Budget next month to help growers develop new sustainable revenue streams.
